Your Personal Details
UK Genealogy Search totally respects and protects your right to privacy. We do NOT in any circumstances provide ANY of your
personal details to any other party. Although a common industry practise, we DO NOT share, resell, or distribute your
personal details including your company name, email address or physical address details with ANY other third party under
ANY circumstances. Every effort is made to keep your personal information totally confidential.
Your Security
What security measures are in place to safeguard your personal information?
We keep all customers personal information in a secure environment accessed only by authorised personal with appropriate
security clearance(s). As well, internal audit controls are in place and regularly checked to further oversee the security
procedures of this information. NO credit card details are kept on our customer files either electronically or
in paper format. Your credit card information is stored in a secure quarantined electronic data base that is
isolated from any unauthorised internal & external (online) access. If you do not wish to electronically provide
us via our secure credit card server with your credit card details, you can either provide this to us by telephone
or by facsimile. Your credit card details are ERASED after your initial purchase agreement has been fulfilled to
your satisfaction.
Credit Card Security
UK Genealogy Search has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the customer financial
information under our control. If you choose to pay with a credit card, your card details are processed through a secure
Internet server environment operated by ™WorldPay, which is a subsidiary of the Bank of Scotland. Your card details
are checked by ™WorldPay against your bank for authorisation of the transaction and payment transfer is then carried out
through Secure Socket Layers (SSL) and public-key security technology to ensure the privacy and security of your information.
During transmission of your credit card details, the encryption software will transfer your information from your browser
to the ™WorldPay server in an encrypted form that eliminates any possibility of the information being intercepted en-route
over the Internet. At no time is your credit card details transmitted un-encrypted over the Internet. We also operate
both our external web sites and internal administration systems behind a secure firewall to protect against any
unauthorised access to our external or internal systems.
Personal Information received from Competitions
We occasionally run competitions for the public. The special Terms & Conditions for these competitions will be made known to
you at the time of the competition. As part of the competition we could ask you for personal information such as your email
or home address in order to contact you if for instance you won a prize. You could also be asked if you would like this
information to be added to our mailing list or email newsletter list. If you provide us with this information you may
reverse your decision to provide us with this information at any time by sending us an email from the email address
we hold for you with the subject line showing as "discontinue".
Personal Information received from Market Surveys
We also from time to time sometimes uses a contracted third party to act on our behalf for special market research projects
such as market research surveys and contest entry processing. We may provide information to these third parties specifically
for use in connection with these surveys and projects. The information we provide to these third parties is ALWAYS protected
by a Non Disclosure Confidentiality Agreement enforceable by law, and is for use only with the specific project.

Please note that we can only apply our Privacy and Confidentiality Policy to web sites that the Travel Online Group Plc
owns and operates, and to information that we receive directly from them. Although we link to external web sites, this should
not be seen to imply that we accept responsibility for customer information & confidentiality policies of the operators or
owners of these web sites. If you choose to interact directly with these external suppliers and their web sites, it is your
responsibility to ensure that they have appropriate safeguards and protocols in place. We encourage you to read the
individual privacy statements of these linked sites, as their privacy policy may be very different from ourselves.

Any changes of a material nature from this current Privacy Statement as to the way that we use personal information will be

Data Storage
Our administration system is entirely localised within our own firewall protected internal network. All our websites are
hosted with an external provider with appropriate industrial grade firewall security also in place. Consequently there is
no possibility of external internet-based file access to neither our internal network nor our website hosting provider.
The storage and security of client data on our premises conforms to all appropriate UK & EU standards for customer data
integrity, confidentiality and security.
